Get America on track: elect a Conservative
The Gazette Opinion Staff

A television ad claims that Rep. Bruce Braley works to make things better for the middle class. His votes in Congress during the last six years have been strictly along the party line. If he is elected to the Senate, he likely will continue to support the disastrous Obama administration's programs, which increased the national debt more than $1 trillion every year for several years and cost the country 2 million jobs while the population increased by 12.8 million.
During the last six years, the United States lost many jobs because of President Obama's war on the coal industry and partly by reducing the money available to start new or enlarge old businesses by borrowing large amounts of money to award failing businesses, whose executives contributed heavily to Obama's campaigns, or by raising taxes for income redistribution from the citizens who could otherwise have afforded to start up new businesses or enlarge old businesses and employ more people.
During the recession, those who report the lowest incomes have been among the hardest hit financially and most likely made dependent on government assistance. Obama seems to want to enlarge the government and the number who are dependent on it and lead the country into socialism and dictatorship. Elect a conservative to replace Sen. Tom Harkin and get America back on track toward prosperity and freedom,
