We need informed voters, not term limits

Voices clamoring for term limits speak from shortsightedness, ignorance, irresponsibility and laziness.
Our founders intended for our electorate to be well-informed, vigilant and responsible regarding the political climate, and to not depend on deceptive information from government and media sources or any unperceived future sources such as government schools, labor unions, Hollywood, etc. They intended for the electorate to maintain a tight hold on government and overthrow it if it deviated from the constraints of the Constitution to the extent it has today.
Forcing congressmen to retire via term limits doesn't necessarily mean newly elected candidates would do a better job. Term limits wouldn't force only “bums” but also solid constitutional incumbents out of office. Unless voters become wiser, we couldn't expect them to replace term-limited “bums” with others who would abide by and uphold the Constitution. They conceivably could simply exchange one set of bums for another.
Instead, we need calls for voter responsibility, concern, vigilance and pro-activity. All we need for effective term limits is the informed vote. This is something the 2nd District seriously lacked when it re-elected a deceptive anti-constitutionalist over Mariannette Miller-Meeks, a staunch pro-constitutionalist.
If we keep turning blind eyes to mistakes of the past, we're doomed to keep repeating them to the detriment of everyone.
