Police used a stun gun on a Pennsylvania man at an Iowa City bar early Saturday after authorities say he refused to leave, pushed an officer in the chest and resisted arrest.
Iowa City police were called to the Summit Restaurant and Bar, 10 S. Clinton St., at 12:45 a.m. Saturday to remove Jeremy P. Spinneweber, 31, of Washington, Pa., from the location. Employees said Spinneweber was being disruptive and would not leave when asked by staff.
After being warned twice by officers to leave, Spinneweber allegedly pushed an officer in the chest, then began to resist and fight with the officer. Officers then used a stun gun three times until Spinneweber complied with the officer's directions.
Spinneweber was taken to the Johnson County Jail, where he was released later Saturday on a $3,800 cash bond.
Spinneweber is accused of assault on a peace officer, consumption/intoxication, interference with official acts and disorderly conduct.
