Branstad sent Iowa jobs to out-of-state workers

I-JOBS was started by Gov. Chet Culver to use money for Iowa projects and employ Iowa workers and pay union scale wages.
There is now a $78 million research building in Iowa City under construction, funded partly by I-JOBS money. Gov. Terry Branstad apparently thought Iowa workers were making too much money, so he killed the Iowa worker protection part of the program. As a result, the prime contractor is from Chicago and the subcontractors are from Texas, Illinois, Colorado, Minnesota, Florida and Wisconsin.
Branstad promised jobs in his campaign. But this action deprives Iowa workers of jobs and also deprives the state of the money being spent in Iowa. This should be a wake-up call for anyone who works for a paycheck. Our governor is not on your side.
