Law-abiding citizens, criminals not the same

In response to Bob Elliott's April 29 column, “Well-regulated militia is no where in site”: You hit on the problem but passed right over it.

Yes, all you people who hate gun violence (guns), why don't you want to outlaw gangs? That would cut gun violence by 80 percent. I'm betting all three incidents Elliott talks about in Cedar Rapids were “gang related.” Even if they weren't, the people who did the shootings are criminals. So why group law-abiding citizens in with criminals?

Oh yeah, I always forget, gun haters will not go after law breakers who use guns, because they might get shot dead. They will just come after law-abiding citizens because, well, we obey the law.

An armed man is a citizen, an unarmed man is a subject. All you gun haters can live in a land where all guns are outlawed; you just have to move to one. But remember, criminals don't follow the laws there either.

Just remember when you are waiting for the police to come and save you from that armed person, just keep telling yourself, “I'm already dead.”
