Seventh Ave. diversion makes no sense

As a lifelong resident of Marion, I have one thing to say about the planned diversion of Seventh Avenue traffic to Sixth Avenue. It has to be THE dumbest thing I've ever heard of in my entire life. The person or people that thought this up obviously won't be affected by it, and obviously do not care one bit about the residents who will be affected negatively by it either.
Please explain how taking away a portion of a street that has four lanes of traffic and moving that traffic to a two-lane street makes sense. Please explain how diverting that traffic off the main thoroughfare that, if taken far enough, goes directly to Springville to a more indirect route makes sense.
And the best part? Those residents in Marion most affected by it, including me, who regularly take the portion of Seventh Avenue most affected as a direct route home every day and do not want this to occur, will most likely get the joy of paying for this with their taxes.
To those who thought of this, gee thanks.
