Support made grand opening a success

On behalf of the officers and directors of the Iowa Veterans' Welcome Center, I would like to extend a tremendous thank you to all of the individuals and organizations who gave time and/or donations to our center for our official grand opening and fundraiser on Sept. 20.
We had an excellent turnout and were able to begin getting the word out about our center and our outreach operations. As a non-profit organization, we will be relying on future donations and goodwill in order to be self-sustaining and continue to aid veterans.
It was indeed gratifying to see the support of so many people, businesses and organizations as we opened our doors to veterans helping veterans of all eras who need support and encouragement on so many levels. We will move forward and grow in the community to provide a gathering place for all veterans, whether it is a social environment or a source of information for available services.
Without the support of everyone who has given, whether large or small, this would not have happened. Again, we wish to thank everyone who made our grand opening the success that it was.
