No political party for Catholic Christians
The Gazette Opinion Staff
Aug. 12, 2010 12:40 am
In Mr. Leonard Pitts Jr.'s Aug. 8 column, “Keeping faith but losing religion,” he wrote: “Yet somehow in the last 30 years, people of faith (Christians) were hustled and hoodwinked into regarding the GOP platform as a lost gospel.” As Catholic Christians who care for the poor, support economic justice, believe in the sanctity of human life from conception to natural death, stand for the dignity of all Americans and people throughout the world, and who know that the truth of science does not contradict the truth of our faith, we have no political party in the United States that represents our beliefs.
