Sanger, Elaine E.
Elaine E. Sanger, 86, of Clarence, died July 21, 2012, at the Clarence Nursing Home. Funeral services: 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 24, at St. John's United Church of Christ, Clarence, by Pastor Lynn Butterbrodt. Burial: St. John's Cemetery. Visitation: 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
Born Jan. 31, 1926, in Clarence, a daughter of Henry and Erna (Goldsmith) Boettcher, she married Raymond Sanger on April 20, 1947. He died May 23, 2012.
Elaine was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ and the Clarence American Legion Auxiliary. She had worked at the Clarence and Mechanicsville nursing homes.
Survivors include a son, Ted Sanger of Cedar Rapids; daughters, Ellen (Melvin) Krause of Cedar Rapids, Sally Meyer of Marion, Peggy (Richard III) Prochaska of Cedar Rapids and Vicki Crock of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Christy (Nate) Hines, Jeromy (Renee) Krause, Phillip (Amy) Meyer, Steve Prochaska IV, Chad (Stephanie) Prochaska, Theresa (Jessie) Manning, Joe (Collette) Crock and Matthew (Crystal) Crock; and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Delores Shinners; and a daughter, Lori.
Memorials may be given to the charity of choice.
