The Norway American Legion Post 234 would like to thank our community and area veterans for their donations for the American Legion Post 234 Norway-Watkins Area Veterans Memorial. Your generosity made it possible to complete this project in just over two years.
We would like to thank South Slope for donating the lot where the memorial stands and the many area businesses and individuals (too many to name) who donated their equipment and time to help with the memorial. Also, thanks to the memorial committee for all of their long hours and hard work to keep the project on track. A special thanks to Marge and Bomber for getting the project started.
The memorial has 440 names of area veterans (this includes 19 KIAs and six POWs) with room for names to be added. For those of you who have not seen it, it is worth the short drive to see.
We would also like to thank Jeff Tronvold and Retired Maj. General Robert Sentman for helping us dedicate the memorial on Nov. 11, 2017.
Again, thank you and God Bless America!
