Kvetensky, William A.
William A. Kvetensky, 77, of Marion, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2013, at Crestview Acres in Marion from complications of Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases. Services: 3 p.m. Tuesday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories, Cedar Rapids, where friends may call after 1 p.m. Tuesday. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids, is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Martha “Adele”; a son, James; granddaughter, Kristin of Marion; a brother-in-law, David Brunius and his wife, Joan, of Cedar Rapids; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Betty Kalous and her husband, Leo.
Bill was born Dec. 28, 1935, in Cedar Rapids, the son of William and Georgia (Kubik) Kvetensky. He graduated from McKinley High School in 1955. Bill worked at Pepsi Cola for 42 years. He married Martha Brunius on Sept. 8, 1962, at Calvary Baptist Church.
Bill enjoyed hunting, fishing and bowling. He belonged to AA for 30 years and was always willing to help others in the program. While at Crestview he participated in as many activities as he could, especially bingo.
“The family would like to thank everyone at Crestview Care Center for taking such good care of Bill. Also thank you to everyone at Mercy Medical Center (9th floor) and Hospice of Mercy for all their help.”
A memorial fund has been established in Bill's name.
