As a teacher in the Iowa City Community Schools for 29 years and a member of the Iowa City school district's board of education for two years, Karla Cook has experience with and knowledge of our district from important viewpoints. We know her to be a good listener who will be open to receiving input from constituents and one who will carefully analyze issues to make the difficult decisions to lead our district into the future.
She is an evenhanded individual who will thoroughly consider the merits of the issues and she will reach carefully studied conclusions. She is our choice because she is intelligent, thoughtful, a problem solver and a person of integrity. A champion of students, it is her desire to help us provide the best education for each student that the district is capable of providing.
We need to keep Cook's problem-solving skills, fair-mindedness and experience on the board of education.
