Gettemy is fresh breath in election

Voters in the 2nd District have an opportunity to elect a candidate who has the right perspective for the job of congressman: Rob Gettemy. Gettemy is not your typical politician. Entering this race less than four months ago, he has gone door to door throughout the district to listen to our concerns.
His straightforward manner of telling you what he believes, rather than what he believes you want to hear, is a welcome change to politics. He is clear in his goals: to restore personal responsibility and freedom to the people and allow us, not the federal government, to direct our lives. Gettemy believes that America is exceptional but it will remain so only if we push back against dependence on government. The consequences of citizens ceding their right to direct their own lives can be seen in the financial collapse of Greece and the rationed health care services of Great Britain and France.
As a business owner and professor at the University of Iowa Entrepreneurial Center, Gettemy understands that the people create jobs, not a stimulus “slush” fund. In Congress, we need those who are less concerned about bringing home the pork and more concerned about freeing the American people to innovate and create.
