What promises to be the best dual in the metro is tonight. Cedar Rapids Prairie visits Linn-Mar. The Hawks are 19-3 overall and 9-1 in the Mississippi Valley Conference, sitting in second of the Valley Division. The Lions are 25-5 and 9-1, leading the Mississippi Division.
Prairie is coming off a third-place finish at the Geneseo, Ill., tournament where Chris Walters won the 119-pound title and Cam Rathje was a runner-up at 152. Linn-Mar won the dual tournament at Estherville/Lincoln Central, going 5-0.

At 145, 2009 state finalist Zach Witte scored bonus points for the Hawks, scoring three takedowns and five nearfall points for a 12-1 win over Tanner Regenwether.
At 152, Rathje gave Prairie a 10-0 lead with a fall in 2:51 over Dakota Digmann.
At 160, Peyton Wagner (CRP) vs. Andrew Holladay. Wagner opens up with a quick takedown and then turns Holladay, who scrambles out only giving up NF2. Wagner leads 4-0 after first. Wagner rides Holladay out in second. Wagner adds T2 in third for 6-0 win.
At 171, Alex Steenblock (CRP) vs. Michael Gansen (LM). Scoreless first. Not much action at all. Steenblock opens up a little with E1 and then a T2 from the front-headlock position. Steenblock up 3-0 with 35 seconds to go in 2nd. Gansen hit for stalling. Steenblock 3-0 after two and they start neutral in third. Steenblock adds a penalty point and NF2 for 8-0 win. CRP up, 17-0.
At 189, Andrew Netolicky (CRP) vs. Gunther Fitch. Netolicky with a T2 and later locks up a cradle for NF2 and 4-0 lead after first. netolicky goes up, 5-0, with E1 to start second. netolicky hits headlock and gets a fallin 2:38. CRP leads, 23-0.
At 215, Tyler Zacek (CRP) vs. Dustin Smith (LM). Smith ignites LM crowd with a throw of Zacek for five-point move. Zacek fights off his back the final minute of the first. At the end of 1, Smith up, 5-0. Smith adds T2 in second and Zacek with an E1. 7-1 Smith after second. Zacek with Fireman's carry to make it 7-3, but needs a lot of points. A crazy final minute ends with Smith's 10-6 win. CRP leads, 23-3.
Dillon Brunscheen (CRP) vs. A.J. Garcia (LM) at heavyweight. Scoreless after first. Brunscheen E1 in second. Brunscheen hit for stalling right at the end of the second, which could be key in the outcome of this match. Garcia starts down in third. brunscheen too high while trying for cradle and Garcia shakes him off for R2 and 2-1 lead. Garcia holds on to 2-1 win.
At 103, Trey Blaha (CRP) vs. Aalijah Jeffery (LM). Jeffery with a T2, but Blaha answers with R2 and rides Jeffery remainder of first. Tied 2-2 after 1. Blaha works and comes out back door for another R2 and leads 4-2 in second. BTW, Jeffery is ranked 5th and Blaha 9th. Both are freshmen. Started neutral for third and Jeffery scores a T2 to tie it up 4-4. In final minute, Blaha scores a third R2 to go up 6-4. restart leads to a scramble where Blaha catches Jeffery on his back for NF 3 and 9-4 win. CRP up 26-6.
At 112, Jayden Flege (CRP) vs. Joel Northrup (LM). Northrup with a T2 and turns Flege for NF 3 and leads, 5-0, after first. Northrup adds another T2 and NF3 for 10-0 lead after 2 periods. Northrup gets a T2 and locks up cradle for a pin in 4:48. CRP leads, 26-12.
At 119, Chris Walters (CRP) vs. Trevor Berry (LM). Walters wastes no time with T2 and 2-0 lead and rides Berry out. Walters starts down for second and E1 for 3-0 lead. Walters adds two T2 in second for 7-2 lead after two. Walters with T2 and leads 9-3 with 1 minute to go. Walters ends with 15-5 major decision. CRP is up, 30-12.
At 125, Dylan Becker (CRP) vs. Dan Radig (LM). Radig with T2 in the first and second periods to go up 4-0. Radig holds on for 4-2 win. CRP leads, 30-15.
At 130, River Whitters (CRP) vs. Jeremy Severin (LM). Severin opens with T2. Whitters answers with E1 and T2, and leads 3-2 at end of first. Severin rides Whitters out and we go into third 3-2 (Whitters). Severing with a quick T2 for 4-3 lead. Severin wins 4-3, making it 30-18 CRP with two matches to go.
At 135, Jamie Day (CRP) vs. Ross Lembeck (LM). Lembeck with a T2 for early lead but then after an E1 for Day, Lembeck takes Day to his back for pin in 1:13. 30-24 CRP.
At 140, Casey becker (CRP) vs. Josh Pederson (LM). Pederson takes Becker down to his back but becker rolls through. 4-0 Pederson. becker gets R2 before period is over. 4-2 Pederson. Pederson with another T2, almost putting Becker on his back. At end of two, Pederson up 6-2. Becker with E1 to start third. 6-3 with 1 minute to go and we have blood time. Pederson wins, 8-3, but CRP wins 30-27.
