First Avenue, Collins Road intersection rebuilding begins

Traffic at the busy intersection of First Avenue and Collins Road NE could be disrupted for the next several weeks while crews reconstruct the intersection.
Work on the intersection is starting this week, city officials said today. The initial work will include periodical changes of one lane closures in all directions. Lane closures will be limited to one lane per direction. The pouring of concrete will be scheduled for non-peak hours of traffic flow, city officials said.
