Military has bigger concerns than gays

One of the main concerns we have in America today is the “don't ask, don't tell” policy and whether to get rid of it.
I disagree with this policy and don't think it should be a concern at all. We as people are too judgmental, now more than ever. I don't see what the issue is with homosexuals being in the military. There is no need to segregate homosexuals from heterosexuals. We should be proud to have homosexuals serve, as we are with heterosexual men. I think if people want to serve their country, they should be able to without criticism. No one should have to feel ashamed of themselves and/or their sexuality.
This shouldn't be a big deal compared to what we are facing right now; the war should be our concern.
The military is hard enough. The soldiers are thinking about their families, getting homesick and should be worrying about whether they're coming home safely rather than if a homosexual is in the barracks.
