Possessing a fawn is not legal
The Gazette Opinion Staff
Oct. 19, 2013 4:12 pm
How could The Gazette print the picture on the front of the Oct. 6 Milestones of the Rev. Stasia Fine with a fawn? Do they not know that it is against the law to possess a fawn, alive or dead? It is in the Iowa Constitution. See www.extension.iastate.edu/publications/IAN402.pdf.
The Iowa DNR game wardens can come for the fawn and bring charges of $500 and six months in jail.
I do not wish ill will. I am working with the Iowa ombudsman regarding four DNR game wardens violating constitutional rights on my farm with hunters on Dec. 2. These game wardens did not have probable cause based on a chargeable offense or a search warrant. They did an illegal search of a barn. They issued tickets knowing they were “poisoned” by information gained illegally.
DNR game wardens are bullies paid $56,000 plus a year.
I pray that Fine has a fully informed jury (www.fija.org). Will the governor intervene?
