Troopers among best drivers on road
The Gazette Opinion Staff
Aug. 22, 2013 12:24 pm
How fast should we allow our highway patrolmen to drive? Obviously they can't adhere to the rules we impose on the public or they would never catch a speeding auto or get to an accident scene quickly.
The limits we put on the general public are for the worst drivers we allow to have drivers licenses. You know, “The no driver left behind” rule. The troopers learn in their training that however fast they have to go in a particular situation, that is their limit. Catching a speeder, for instance, or getting the governor to an important meeting on time.
Remember, those troopers out there are among the best drivers on the road. Let's give them our support and a little praise for the wonderful job they are doing.
