Kevin L. Perry, a 22-year-old Iowa City man accused of attempted murder, intimidation with a dangerous weapon and control of a firearm by a felon, chose not to move forward with a plea agreement with the state on Wednesday morning.
Last week Perry's attorney, Patrick Ingram, said that Perry was anticipating to enter a guilty plea. Now that Perry has decided not to follow through with the plea, his case is expected to come before the court sometime in October, Johnson County Attorney Janet Lyness said.
According to police reports, Perry
threatened to kill two individuals that he was arguing with and then pointed a gun at them May 14, firing one shot. No one was injured, but everyone involved fled the scene, police said.
