The Trice Isn't Right for other Big 12 players
Mike Hlas Aug. 5, 2009 10:31 pm
Our friends at The Oklahoman -- who do a darn good job covering college football in a college football-mad state - asked questions to 29 of the players brought to the Big 12's Media Days last week.
Though the vote was splintered with no clear "winner," Iowa State got the most votes as having the worst league stadium in which to play.
From the article (click here to see it) "That was the first game I started in. At the time, I thought it was cool. Until I played in everyone else's stadium." - a Big 12 South offensive player, on Jack Trice Stadium.
"We went up there two years ago and it looks like a McDonald's, all red and yellow. It looks kind of funny." - a Big 12 North offensive player, on Trice Stadium.
If it makes Cyclone fans feel any better, seven other stadiums got votes for the worst. I've been to six other Big 12 stadiums besides Iowa State's, and ... Kansas and Kansas State have no room to brag, and if Colorado's didn't have the mountains as a backdrop, it would be dullsville, Daddy-o.
It's my opinion that all stadiums are pretty good when their teams are winners, and all stadiums are pretty lackluster when their teams are losers. The Metrodome is unreal for baseball during a World Series. For a regular-season game against Kansas City when both teams are going nowhere ... ugh.
Not Jack Trice Stadium
