Letter: Compassion needed in Republican Party

I am stunned and saddened by the overwhelming lack of compassion that President Donald Trump and his administration continue to demonstrate. Unfortunately, that failure extends to Congressional Republicans and the Republican Party as well.
I hasten to add that there are still compassionate Republicans, but their silence renders them complicit. Granted, compassionate words like 'love” manage to escape the lips of some, including Trump, but they ring hollow. Actions speak louder.
