Angry constituents upset for good reason

In regard to your Aug. 11 editorial, “Debate, listen and don't obstruct,” you seem not to really be aware of events (or are ignoring them) leading up to the present town hall protests. People are very angry. I am one those angry people. Those people who now are whining that their constituents are being “rude” are the same group that wanted the health care bill passed and signed before the August recess. They were going to try to push this through without any constituent input, no significant debate and without understanding the bill or having read it.
Now they are unhappy because people are upset with them. I am upset with them because they have no respect for their constituents and are now calling them “mobs.”
In St. Louis, a Service Employees International Union man attacked a person handing out “Don't tread on me” flags and put him into the hospital. At another meeting, union members and supporters were let into the discussion room much before anyone else and were given the seats in front. These items never made it into your editorial.
