Construction jobs came from stimulus spending
The Gazette Opinion Staff
Jun. 26, 2012 1:03 pm
I was driving in Colorado a few weeks back. I came to a road construction zone sporting signs saying it was a result of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 - the Barack Obama stimulus package.
As my blue Pontiac wove through the endless orange cones and choked on the thick dust, I remembered many saying the Obama stimulus package created and saved no jobs. If that were true, the construction zone was a facade, the equipment illusions and the scores of gainfully employed workers mere specters without substance. I was overcome with confusion, it seemed so real.
Then I heard a confronting voice say: “Repeat after me - Rush is right, Rush is right, Rush Limbaugh is right.”
