We Create Here community engagement managers Kiran Sood and Sarah Binder had full weeks this week, seeking community input to help them answer their Big Questions.
Sarah investigated the status of internet connectivity in Iowa and why it matters. She spoke with Geonetric, Inc. CEO Eric Engelmann and looked into what companies such as South Slope and ImOn are doing to help Iowans connect.
Kiran took a deeper look at how area companies are preparing for and responding to Iowa's increasingly diverse workforce. Kiran sought input from Mark Grey, director of the Iowa Center for Immigrant Leadership and Integration, Michele Devlin, professor of global health at the University of Northern Iowa and director of the Iowa Center on Health Disparities, said Anthony Brown, manager of community engagement and development for Cedar Rapids-based Diversity Focus, and others.
