An anti-zoning organization in Washington County filed a Statement of Organization with the Iowa Ethics & Campaign Disclosure Board this week to become an Iowa Political Action Committee. The document was posted online today.
The PAC's stated purpose is "[t]o increase awareness of public freedom issues." James Graham, of Kalona, is the Committee Chairperson and Peg Roberts, of Brighton, is Treasurer.
Graham said the organization "began as an informal group of activists who cared about freedom."
More from Graham via the Washington Evening Journal:
“We want to increase awareness of issues relating to personal freedom,” said Graham. “Zoning is just part of the problem. It's the tip of the iceberg. We don't like how the government is stripping people of their freedom, and how there is increasing reliance on government planning and interference.”
