Alliman, Mae Richard
Mae Richard Alliman, 88, of Goshen, Ind., formerly of Iowa City, died Sunday, Nov. 7, 2010.
Mrs. Alliman was born Jan. 11, 1922, in Wayland, Iowa, to the late Noah and Anna (Graber) Richard. On May 31, 1941, she married Gilbert Alliman, in Wayland. He died August 3, 2005, in Goshen.
Survivors include a daughter, June A. (John D.) Yoder of Goshen; a son, Kirk G. (Jean) Alliman of Louisville, Ky.; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Beverly Robinson of Des Moines.
She was preceded in death by a brother, John Richard; and two sisters, Clysta Richard and Ruby Telford.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, and one hour before the 11 a.m. Saturday memorial service in the Koinonia Room at the College Mennonite Church, Goshen. The Rev. Rose Widmer will officiate. A private graveside service will take place later at Sugar Creek Cemetery, Wayland, Iowa.
A 1939 graduate of Wayland (Iowa) High, she was actively involved in every church she attended. At her death, she was a member of College Mennonite Church, Goshen. For 20 years, while living in Iowa City, she was the office manager of a family business that prepared tax returns for hundreds of individuals. The Allimans retired in 1993, and moved to Goshen in 1997.
Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen, is handling arrangements.
