A man needed stitches to his head after masked men assaulted him during a robbery in Cedar Rapids, police said.
Around 9:30 p.m. Sunday, three men broke into a mobile home at 1922 Western Dr. SW, surprising four people inside, according to a police report. Two of the men, who were wearing masks, went into a bedroom and demanded cash.
Michael Clinton, 19, who was in the bedroom, told police one of the men held him down and hit him several times with a pipe, while the other man rummaged through the area. Clinton later required stitches at a hospital, police said.
Destiny Kerschieter, 18, told police the third suspect, who was wearing a bandanna across his face, stayed with her, her 12-year-old brother and 7-year-old sister in the living room. As the men were leaving with electronics, one of them struck Kerschieter and knocked her down. She was not hurt.
No arrests have been made. Police continue to investigate the incident.
