2014 Bob Vrbicek Metro Baseball Tournament bracket

The first round pairings have been set for the 2014 Bob Vrbicek Metro Baseball Tournament.Seven Metro schools and Mount Vernon will compete in the event co-hosted by Cedar Rapids Jefferson and Cedar Rapids Xavier on May 26-27. Action begins May 26 at 10 a.m. with the championship game set for Tuesday, May 27 at Memorial Stadium at 7 p.m.Xavier will host Cedar Rapids Prairie with the winner advancing to a semifinal against the winner of Cedar Rapids Kennedy and Mount Vernon, which will also be at Ken Charipar Field.Jefferson will host Marion in a quarterfinal. Cedar Rapids Washington and Linn-Mar will also play at Jefferson. The winners will compete in a semifinal later that day.The championship and third-place games will be held at Memorial Stadium. Xavier will host the fifth and seventh-place games Tuesday, May 27.
