By the numbers: 17,395 tons of debris removed from Sinclair site

As the effort to remove homes ruined during the floods of 2008 continues, here is a look at how much debris has been disposed of at Cedar Rapids/Linn County Solid Waste Agency facilities:
Mount Trashmore – Flood debris
- 123,747.91 tons, through June 4, 2010
- 22,333 loads delivered
County Road Home Facility (Used for several months after the flood before all flood debris diverted to Mt. Trashmore)
- 27,855.42 tons
- 4,519 loads delivered
Total for both Facilities: 151,603.33 tons/26,852 loads delivered
Sinclair site demolition
Since demolition efforts of the former Sinclair meatpacking plant began in May, here is a look at how much debris has been removed and disposed of at the Cedar Rapids Landfill (Mt. Trashmore):
- 17,395.75 tons, through June 5, 2010
- 947 loads delivered
Average Tons per Load: 18.37
