Cohrt, Terry Lee 'Hermie'
Terry Lee “Hermie” Cohrt, 63, of Ellsworth, Wis., formerly of Newhall, died Saturday, March 17, 2012, at Ellsworth Care Center in Ellsworth, Wis., following a brief bout with cancer. Graveside services will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 21, at St. John's Cemetery in Newhall, with the Rev. Steve Rempfer officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Van Steenhuyse-Russell Funeral Home in Vinton.
Terry was born Nov. 15, 1948, in Belle Plaine, Iowa, the son of Edward Herman and Martha Furler Cohrt. He graduated from Benton Community Schools in 1968.
He worked for Firestone Tires in Cedar Rapids.
He enjoyed NASCAR, watching the Packers and Hawkeyes and playing Bingo.
Terry is survived by his mother, Martha Cohrt of Vinton; two brothers, Gary Cohrt of Van Horne and Michael (Kathy) Cohrt of Shellsburg; two sisters, Joyce Thompson of Ellsworth, Wis., and Janet (Joe) Cohrt of Beloit, Wis.; two nieces and a nephew.
He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents.
A memorial fund has been established.
Van Steenhuyse-Russell Funeral Home of Vinton is caring for Terry and his family.
