DONALD KENNISON TYLER
Cedar Rapids
Donald Kennison Tyler, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on May 16, 2021, with his family surrounding him. Don was born on Feb. 23, 1966, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to Buell Tyler and Joyce (Fordice) Stigers. Don enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1986, where he was well traveled and spent most of his
time in Germany. While in the Army he was heavily involved in technology. He was honorably discharged in 1995. Don returned to Cedar Rapids in 1995 and continued his passion in technology.
Don was blessed with a musical talent and loved playing the guitar for family and friends. His dream to sail was cut short, but he will be laid to rest at sea as he wished.
He is survived by his children, Jensen (Michelle) Tyler, Devin (Dave) Bellich, Shana Tyler, Thea Tyler, Selina Tyler, Annie Tyler, Myles Williams-Cook and Marley Tyler; six grandsons; four granddaughters; one brother; two sisters; and his mother.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, May 28, at the VFW Post 788, in Cedar Rapids. A Eulogy will begin at 6 p.m.
Memorial donations may be made to the Donald K. Tyler memorial fund and sent to Jensen and Michelle Tyler at 1818 Taft Dr SW. Cedar Rapids, IA 52404.
