Harry Ebbeson III
HARRY EBBESON III
Anamosa
Born Harry Lorentz Ebbeson III in Yuba City, Calif., on May 23, 1970, to loving parents Gail and Harry Jr. He unexpectedly and suddenly passed away on May 14, 2021, in Anamosa, Iowa.
Harry Ebbeson III was a musician with over 40 years' experience in performance, piano instruction and general music education. Raised in Nice, Lake County, Calif., with an old organ, a friendly neighbor saw his talent and trained him on the piano. Then to Cypress, (near Houston), Texas, where the euphonium helped tame his asthma and provided a tool for marching band. Although it was not 'cool,' it was instrumental in providing him the knowledge of what 'cool' was versus what he was despite 'cool.' Graduated in Houston from Cy-Fair High School, Cypress, Twxas, 1988; the Audio Institute of America in San Francisco with honors in 1998; held many different certifications in the IT industry. Magna Cum Laude with a B.A. in Christian Ministry and Leadership through Ohio Christian University in 2016.
His ministry, Music with Harry, has been in operation full-time since 2009 and gave him the opportunity to travel and perform at nursing and elderly living facilities all over the state of Iowa including parts of Illinois, Missouri and Texas. Developing his faith and worship through music.
A professional keyboardist, ["the best I've ever seen" say his bandmates], he released 22 solo albums, played on countless tracks for other artists, performed with several bands including the JC Project and, most recently, NewTrick. His listener base, thanks to the Internet and different streaming services, is worldwide.
A caring father, husband, brother, son and true friend; he took care for anyone: whether checking your gullibility with his practical jokes [thank you, Kylie]; his pleasant corrections, "He was Always RightTM" [thank you, Chrissy]; or, if that was tempted to be untrue, his Gallows Humor, if life gives you rotten eggs find a funny place to break them. [Thank you, Bear].
Harry is survived by his wife, Shawna (McGuire) Ebbeson; children, Martha (Gibson) [Tom] Braun, Christine (Gibson-Ebbeson) [Tyler] Duncan, Harry Ebbeson IV, Jordan McGuire and Kylie Ebbeson; grandson, Braxton Duncan; siblings, Erik Ebbeson and Alisha (Ebbeson) [Shaun] Lathrop; nieces and nephews, Arianna, Jacob and Emily; parents Gail (Diamond) and Harry Ebbeson Jr.; and so many more friends and extended family.
Preceded in death by grandparents, Cecile and Floyd Diamond, and Roberta and Harry Ebbeson Sr.; and uncle, Bill Diamond.
Thank you, Harry! Play on until we see you again.
