Derrick Roberts murder trial reset to January

The attempted murder trial of Derrick Roberts, 23, of Chicago, was reset to Jan. 4 in Linn County District Court.
His pretrial is set for 1:30 p.m. Dec. 23.
Roberts is charged with attempted murder, intimidation with a dangerous weapon and willful injury causing serious injury. He is accused of shooting Delores Smith, 50, of Cedar Rapids, while she sat in her van parked in the 1200 block of Third Avenue SE May 2. She suffered serious injuries from the the shooting.
