'Conserve City Water': Gazette article after 1929 flood

From March 19, 1929 Evening Gazette and Republican:
Conserve City WaterH. F. Blomquist, superintendent of the city water works, today issued the following statement appealing to water users to be saving of water until the flood conditions abate."Although the filter plant has been shut down, the water is not shut off, but is being furnished from the Bever park reservoir and one deep well. This supply is very limited, however, and therefore the people are requested to use as little water as possible--half or less than the amount they would normally use--in order to make the supply last until the filter plant can be used again."Mayor J. F. Rall, chairman of the board of health, emphasizes that water from private wells should not be used unless it is boiled.
