David George Lowe, 62, of Marion, died Wednesday, May 19, 2021. Funeral service: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 25, 2021, at St. Joseph Catholic Church by the Rev. David O'Connor. Burial: Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at Teahen Funeral Home.
Dave is survived by his sister, Sheryl of Marion; aunt, Joyce Downing (Joe Geier) of Cedar Rapids; uncles, George Aldrich (Sharon Noe) and William "Bill" (Sandy) Aldrich, both of Brandon; many cousins; and many beloved birds.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Amy; and his bird, Sammy.
Dave was born on June 21, 1958, the son of George and Mary Aldrich Lowe in Cedar Rapids and graduated in 1976 from Linn Mar High School. He worked in phone sales.
Dave loved raising and breeding exotic birds, and he especially enjoyed taking his cockatoo, Sammy, to schools to perform for the students. Dave liked fishing and spending time with his friends, and he will be missed by those who knew him.
