Hall of Famer Molitor to appear at Kernels' Hot Stove Banquet

Hall of Famer Paul Molitor is among those scheduled to appear at the Cedar Rapids Kernels' 18th-annual Hot Stove Banquet, Jan. 13 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in downtown Cedar Rapids.
Also part of the Minnesota Twins Caravan/Hot Stove Banquet will be Twins relief pitchers Brian Duensing and Ryan Pressly. Kernels Manager Jake Mauer also is scheduled to appear.
Duensing has a 34-33 record and 4.20 earned run average in five seasons with the Twins. He was 6-2 with a 3.98 ERA last season.
Pressly was acquired from the Boston Red Sox in the 2012 Rule V Draft and went 3-3 with a 3.87 ERA in 76 2/3 innings last season. Molitor has worked as a minor-league instructor but was recently named a coach for the Twins.
Mike Trout, Chris Sabo, Ron Gonder, Tom Barbee and Verna Nance will officially be inducted into the Cedar Rapids Baseball Hall of Fame as part of the banquet.
Proceeds from the event help the Kernels Foundation. Tickets are $40 in advance and $45 at the door, with corporate tables of 10 available for $350.
