Hamman, Elaine
Elaine Hamman, 92, of Grinnell, died on Sunday, Jan. 24, 2010, at Grinnell Regional Medical Center. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. John's Lutheran Church. Interment will be at Hazelwood Cemetery. Friends may call at the Smith Funeral Home from noon on Friday, and the family will be present at the funeral home from 5 to 7 p.m.
Memorials may be directed to St. John's Lutheran Church or to Muscular Dystrophy.
The family owned and operated Hamman's Apparel in Grinnell from 1960 to 1989.
Survivors include two daughters, Lois (Dean) Hieber of Solon, and Phyllis McDaniel of Punto Gorda, Fla.; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one brother, Donovan L. Wallin of Sugarland, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Hamman.
