Prime Time, Game Time tryouts Saturday

Tryouts for the summer Prime Time and Game Time leagues will be held Saturday at the Iowa Field House's south gym.

Tryouts for Game Time are at 6 p.m., while Prime Time tryouts are at 7:30 p.m. Players who are assured of making the team do not have to try out.

The draft will be held June 14 at Monica's in Coralville. The Game Time draft starts at 5 p.m.; the Prime Time draft starts at 7 p.m. Both leagues will have six teams.

The Prime Time League's first game is held at 3 p.m. on June 19 at the North Liberty Recreation Center. The PTL plays on Sundays (3 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.) and Tuesdays (6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.). The Game Time League plays only on Wednesday nights (6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.).

Most of the men's and women's basketball players who compete for Iowa and Northern Iowa will play in the legaues.

PTL coaches include: Randy Larson, Ray Swetalla, Ron Nove, Kevin Lehman, Kevin Sanders and Dan Ahrens. GTL coaches include: Randy Larson, Clark Anderson, Brendan Unkrich, Joe Johnston, JoAnn Hamlin and Mike Stoermer.

Both leagues also are looking for sponsors. Cost is $1,400 for a full sponsorship, and half-sponsorships are possible.
