Police identify woman killed in rollover near Marengo

Authorities have identified the woman killed in a rollover accident Monday as Monica (Huber) Lindsey, 22, of rural South Amana.
Deputies responded to the crash around 6:45 a.m. about a half-mile west of Marengo on Highway 6. According to the Iowa County sheriff's office, Lindsey was attempting to pass another vehicle when her sport-utility vehicle hit a patch of frost-covered pavement, went out of control and rolled several times into the north ditch.
Investigators determined Lindsey was not wearing her seat belt and was ejected from the SUV. An ambulance took her to Marengo Memorial Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
