Cedar Rapids gets first significant snow of the winter

CEDAR RAPIDS - Cedar Rapids received its first significant snowfall of the winter overnight as resident woke to three to four inches of snow.
Other than a few minor crashes on I-380, normal traffic issue for winter played out this morning.
City crews were out in force overnight clearing roads with more than 90 staff member using nearly 90 vehicles.
Residents are being asked to move cars off streets.
Crews completed the main roads at approximately 7 a.m. and are now moving into the residential roads.
Multiple accidents slowed southbound traffic on I-380 in Cedar Rapids this morning.
At 8:55 a.m. traffic was again moving after wrecked vehicles from two crashes were removed. Most motorists are traveling around 40 mph through Cedar Rapids.
