In the Aug. 2 story “Iowa delegates: Deal didn't go far enough,” The Gazette quoted the incumbent of the 1st District, Bruce Braley: “The agreement once again places the burden on the middle-class families, while demanding nothing of the millionaires, billionaires and corporations making record profits.”
Braley, where do you think the middle class earns its money, the tooth fairy? Understand what is going on:
1. Half of our citizens (naturalized and not) don't pay taxes but receive tax money.
2. Canada has lowered its corporate taxes; manufacturers can't get there fast enough!
3. If you keep putting the burden on the risk takers, they and/or their money will leave. Where would that leave the dependent class that this government has created? Refer to item No. 1.
