Changing marriage law goes against bible
The Gazette Opinion Staff
Nov. 17, 2010 1:01 pm
A homosexual gene has not been found. However even if it is true that homosexuality is a genetic trait, does it really matter? Alcoholism has been found to be a genetic trait. Yet alcoholics are not demanding the right to pursue their lifestyle. The Bible clearly states that to be a drunkard is wrong. The Bible also clearly states that homosexuality is an abomination to God.
Many people who have alcoholism amend their lives and no longer actively drink. Many homosexuals who revere God also amend their lives and no longer seek sexual relationships with the same sex. Alcoholics who chose to continue to drink are not given special status, they seek no amendment of laws to accommodate their abhorrent lifestyle. Why do homosexuals insist that they should be given special status and laws changed to accommodate their abhorrent lifestyle, when civil unions already give them the legal protections they claim to seek? They seek the change of law to legitimize their lifestyle.
