Motorcyclist hurt when skidding across Highway 13
A Cedar Rapids man lost control of his motorcycle and skidded across a busy highway Thursday.
Stephen Stepanek, 25, was eastbound on Cottage Grove Parkway around 6:30 p.m. when he lost control and went across all four lanes of Highway 13, according to the Linn County Sheriff's Office. Stepanek and his motorcycle were not hit by oncoming vehicles.
Stepanek was taken by ambulance to Mercy Medical Center, where information about his condition was not immediately available. His injuries were not considered life-threatening, authorities said.
Charges are pending and an investigation is continuing, authorities said.
