Washington grad Ward fired by Chiefs

The Kansas City Chiefs fired three assistant coaches it was announced Thursday, including Cedar Rapids Washington grad and former University of Northern Iowa receiving standout Dedric Ward.
Ward was the Chiefs' receivers coach until being demoted to a quality control position early this past season. He held that same position with the Arizona Cardinals before coming to Kansas City.
Ward is expected to be in Cedar Rapids this weekend to be part of a Washington basketball alumni tournament.
