Congress’ main talent? Following the leader

Leonard Pitts Jr. (March 28 column) suggests an excuse in case health care rhetoric causes “some disgruntled opponent of health care reform injures someone.”
I do not approve of physical intimidation but neither do I approve of bribery (sweetheart deals, earmarks, etc.). These may be worse ethically since they tempt others to “sell their souls.” And to justify this because “our opponents do it, too” shows the conscience developmental level of a 4-year-old. And after watching Congress in action for 70-plus years, I wonder if they'll ever grow up. Their main talent seems to be the ability to play follow the leader.
