Summer Fest offers learning experience
The Gazette Opinion Staff

As summertime rolls into Eastern Iowa, I am grateful for area activities that offer rich learning experiences that encourage time together as families. I am excited to play a small role in that endeavor during Tanager Place Summer Fest on June 1.
Children and their parents can take part in hands-on activities that place emphasis on safety and STEM initiatives (science, technology, engineering and math). We can all appreciate finding teachable moments for our kids and a spark for curiosity and critical thinking. There will be more than 30 hands-on activities to engage kids of all ages. An activity tent for Safety Town and STEM initiatives will be available on from 3:30-8:30 p.m., along with a variety of other interactive displays and activity tents. Take advantage of this free opportunity and engage in something new.
