Recently, I attended an open house for the newest Tanager Place program, the Pediatric Integrated Health program and was overwhelmed with the impact this program is making for at-risk children and their families.
Through this program, Tanager Place is responding collaboratively with nearly 1,000 Medicaid-eligible children who live with psychological disorders. Pediatric Integrated Health staff work in care teams to ensure that a child's physical health, educational and personal issues are being integrated into their mental health care. For parents and guardians, they offer a 24/7 support network.
For two generations, my family has been associated with Tanager Place, and as a board member, I have seen for myself the good work accomplished over the years. The talented staff members of Tanager Place are true advocates for their clients, they work to support and connect families with a wide variety of community resources.
This integrated model of care, Pediatric Integrated Health, is reducing costs, improving mental and physical health, increasing school attendance and linking children and families to the resources they need. Keep up the great work.
