Organic lip balm sold by a Cedar Rapids company will help raise funds for Haitian relief organization World Wide Village Inc.
Eco Lips has adopted Worldwide Village through its new “Cause Balms” program. It will donate $2 from the sale of every $3.50 Worldwide Village lip balm sold to the group.
Dr. Christopher Buresh, an emergency room physician at the University of Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, is among local supporters of the group. Buresh flew to Haiti immediately after the earthquake to render medical care to earthquake survivors in Haiti under the group's umbrella.
Eco Lips Nonprofit Marketing Coordinator Jen Johnson said the Cedar Rapids company added Worldwide Village to its newly launched Cause Balms program at a higher level than the usual $1-per-lip balm donation because of the dire need for the group's services in earthquake-wracked Haiti.
Worldwide Village provides Christian education, health care, nutrition and micro-enterprise business opportunities, focusing its efforts on Haiti.
