Houlihan, James Robert 'Bob'
James Robert “Bob” Houlihan, 85, of Manchester, died Dec. 20, 2012, at Banner Hospice Home in Sun City West, Ariz.
He was born July 23, 1927, in Manchester, the son of James and Emma (Henneberry) Houlihan. Bob was raised and educated in the area and graduated from Manchester High School. Bob served honorably in the U.S. Army for two years.
On July 31, 1965, Bob was united in marriage to Earlene Goodman. Two children were born to this union.
Together they farmed and also operated a farm supply store, Houlihan Ag, for 25 years.
Besides his family, Bob loved farming, traveling, and spending winters in Sun City West, Ariz.
Survivors include his wife, Earlene of Manchester; one son, John Houlihan of Manchester; a daughter, Kathy (Mark) Staud of Grimes; and three grandchildren, Nick, Anna and Izzy.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Gerald “Happy” Houlihan; and two sisters, Bernadine Trusty and Celeste Houlihan.

Mass of Resurrection: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 29, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Manchester. Visitation: 3 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 28, at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home in Manchester, with a rosary at 4 p.m. Friday, and one hour before the service on Saturday at the church. Interment: St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Manchester, with military rites by Manchester American Legion Post 45.
