Wehrman, Cinda L.
Cinda L. Wehrman, 64, died peacefully at her daughter's home surrounded by family after a courageous, yet brief battle with cancer on Monday, May 16, 2011. Memorial Services: 2 p.m. Friday, May 20, at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Tedd Bryant. A private burial in Eldora, Iowa, will occur at a later date.
Cinda was born on Sept. 3, 1946, in Eldora, Iowa, to Clarence and Evelyn (Reiber) Struck. She graduated from Eldora High School in 1966. On June 26, 1971, Cinda was united in marriage to Terry Wehrman in Eldora. They divorced in 2004, but remained friends.
Born with a severe hearing impairment, Cinda navigated the world with sass and a stubborn streak. She worked most of her life in manufacturing jobs, making many friends along the way. Cinda enjoyed spending time with friends and family, riding motorcycles, following Iowa State basketball, playing cards and caring for her cats.
Cinda was preceded in death by her parents; her infant sister, Judy; and her beloved older sister, Nancy Folks; as well as many aunts and uncles.
Those left to remember Cinda fondly include her three children, Michelle (Chris) Flores of Cedar Rapids, Jaime Pimlott of Cedar Rapids, and Michael Wehrman of Des Moines; her grandchildren, Joseph, Caleb, Luka and Carolina, all of Cedar Rapids; her former spouse, Terry Wehrman of Cedar Rapids; her brother-in-law, Gayle Folks of Ankeny; her nieces, Robyn, Lisa, Jennifer and Tracey and their spouses and children; special friend, Ray Matthews of Louisville, Ohio; and many other friends and family members.
Memorials may be directed to Hospice of Mercy or the Cedar Valley Humane Society.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Cowden and Hospice of Mercy, especially Kay, Lisa and Amanda, for their caring, gentle touch with Cinda in her last days.
